The Proven Health Benefits of Chocolate

without comments

Even though natives of early Latin American civilization make extensive use of chocolate in their medicinal preparations, modern culture took a shadowy outlook of chocolate as containing any health benefits.

Chocolate has been alleged to bring about tooth cavities, acne, and lots of other health complaints. Current scientific facts, has been demystifying the, what they describe as “chocolate myths.” And, to the chocolate lovers’ pleasure, closing that not only is chocolate not damaging to your health, but rather it is very beneficial.

This is about the acne myth of chocolates. There have been at least two scientific researchers who focus on this matter, and both studies revealed that the intake of chocolate had in fact, don’t have any effects whatsoever on acne. Also, studies show that there is no connection between acne and diet as well.

Meanwhile, studies that have also been carried out on the effect of chocolate on the matter of tooth decay. Even if chocolate does have sugar, it has been discovered that chocolate have some amount of phosphates and other minerals that cam reduce the effect of the sugar on the teeth. Thus chocolate is deemed to be one of the least likely snacks or munch on that can possibly set off cavities. Also, in another study it stated that antibacterial substance in cocoa can actually fight tooth decay.

The full health benefits that can be provided by chocolate are:
• It have flavonoids
• It’s a strong antioxidants
•  stearic acid
•  phenylethylamine
• Theobromine
• Magnesium
• Iron
• Plus many other vital minerals
Flavanoids or phenolic phytochemicals are compounds that are found in plant foods that are known to provide healthful gains for humans. This flavanoids are said to prevent heart disease and cancer. They are present in broad assortment of beverages and foods like tea, red wine, apples, onions, cranberries, and peanuts.

Antioxidants are significant for their capacity to wipe out free radicals. The efficiency of antioxidants is calculated by ORAC units. Usually dark chocolate have more than 13000 ORAC units. When the body does not have enough amount of antioxidants, harm can arise that can lead to the intensified plaque development on the arterial walls and a raise in LDL cholesterol.

One more nutrient that are commonly the issue of many myths is the fat. Nutritionists and health professionals repeatedly suggest the avoidance of saturated fats and to just shift to monosaturated fats because saturated fats increase cholesterol levels.

The fat substance of chocolate is one-third stearic acid, one-third palmitic acid, and one-third oleic acid. Oleic acid is a mono-saturated fat similar to the olive oil. Based on research studies, stearic acid has no effect on cholesterol levels. On the other hand, palmitic acid is a saturated fat that does have an effect on the cholesterol levels. However, some saturated fat is required in a diet since saturated fats give defense in contrast to skin cancer and apparently, unsaturated fats don’t have the capacity to do this.

Moreover, even if anyone can freely eat chocolate now and with no guilt, remember that chocolate has to be eaten in the right way to be able to reap its full health benefits.

Dark is said to be more healthful compared to milk chocolate. In addition, the chocolate must be of high quality to have large cacao content. It also must be pure and not blended with caramel, nougat, marshmallows and other commercial additives to a chocolate product since they are unhealthy. Finally, eat chocolate in moderation.

How You Can Feel Younger Starting Today

without comments

Wish that you had the energy and vigor that you used to have 10 years ago? Well maybe you can

Who wouldn’t want to feel younger and full of energy? Well there may not be a fountain of youth, but there are steps you can do to feel better and enjoy life more

Let’s start with the food you eat. Are you eating wholesome food packed with nutrients, or fast food and processed food with empty calories?

The truth is that you are what you eat. At least this is partially true.

Okay, most of us could exercise more. The trouble is there just doesn’t seem to be enough time. Besides, it’s not much fun and who has the energy?

Well if you find something that you enjoy then you will want to do it more often. What is it that you enjoy?

Do you like sports? What about hiking? Whatever it is get out there and do it. Gardening, walking or golfing.

You will find that once you start eating right and being more active that your energy will go up. You will feel better and feel better about yourself.

Be sure to include fresh fruit and vegetables in your diet for a real energy lift.

Even when we try to eat our best we may not get all the nutrients we need. That’s when a good supplement will come in handy. Look for a good quality supplement made from natural ingredients. Synthetic supplements can’t quite compete with a good wholesome one.

As we age we don’t absorb or produce some nutrients as well as we used to. You may want to have your doctor test for these and then you will know where you are lacking and correct it.

So remember. Eat the right food in the correct portions. Exercise by working out or do something that you enjoy and having fun. Consider supplements if you are missing nutrients in your diet.

Once you are in balance again you will be amazed at how well you feel and look. Your friends will wonder “What’s up with you?” They will notice something different even if they can’t put their finger on it.

More important though is that you will feel great! You will have more energy, stamina and fun than you’ve had in quite a while. Also that food will taste so much better.

Hey! It’s not that hard really. Give it a try and see for yourself.

So you know what to do. Take action today and start looking and feeling better than ever.

How to Get Back Pain Relief

without comments

Quite a few of us suffer from back pain. It makes everything seem harder to do and we just can’t enjoy the things we want to do.

Many things can cause back pain. The cause could be weak muscles, a dislocated disc or even stress. All you know is when you have it you want relief, and you want it right now.

Some people have even resorted to surgery. If you are considering that route then please do your homework. Surgery should be your last resort in most cases.

There are many natural and alternative methods to gain relief from back pain. Here are a few options to try that may give you remarkable results.

 Creams

Creams may help for minor sore backs. They often contain ingredients such as salicylate, capsacin and menthol. This could help if your pain is from strained or tense muscles.

 Heating Pads

Heating pads are very popular for back pain relief. They seem to soothe away pain cause by tension in the muscles also. They do keep you from doing activities though since you are usually confined to a chair or couch.

 Exercise

Even though the thought of exercise seems like too much pain to endure, it is actually a good remedy for your back.

Of course it’s better to exercise and stay in shape before you get back pain. One way that exercise helps is by strengthening your muscles, especially around your abdomin area.

 Medicine

You could take Ibuprofen and other inflammatory drugs, but these are drugs with side effects so don’t abuse them. If you do need them, use common sense.

There are two alternative techniques that are generally very safe and may provide great relief. These are Acupuncture and Chiropractics.

 Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a Chinese therapy of using very thin needles. These are positioned at specific meridian points throughout the body. There are certain points on the body that correspond with the area that you are treating.

Acupuncture is a tremendous tool that has given relief to many. This includes high blood pressure, bad habits such as smoking and relief for back problems.

 Chiropractic

A Chiropractor can also give relief from back pain. They can adjust your spine and could give instantaneous relief in some cases. If you don’t like the idea of someone popping your joints back into place then look for a chiropractor that uses a computer controlled device. It is something like a mini jackhammer. This device is very accurate in finding where the problem areas are and then adjusting them.

A few more options you could explore are magnets and yoga. Just remember there is relief. You will have to find out what works best for you.

For a more detail report check out “Back Pain Guide“. It will tell you everything about back pain and helpful therapy.

Acupuncture an Alternative Health Procedure

without comments

Acupuncture is an ancient practice that now includes some modern tweaks that adds value to the treatment. Building on an already useful tool for healing, acupuncture now adds other tools such as laser and electric current.

Originating in China over 2000 years ago, acupuncture is one of the oldest and most commonly used medical procedure.

The practice of acupuncture is inserting hair-thin needles at specific points on the body. These points are known as pathways or meridians which may be block.

It’s believed that by inserting needles that these meridians will unblock thus letting the body’s electric energy through. This can ease pain and assist the healing process.

What should you expect?

You may experience slight to no pain. A few people may feel more sensations. Generally the client will feel relax. This routine normally last about 30 minutes while you lay quietly and try to remain relax.

You should make sure your acupuncturist has credentials, skill and references.

There are always the dangers of an inexperience acupuncturist. You wouldn’t want a puncture lung. Please don’t let me discourage you to search for a qualified acupuncturist but do be prudent in your quest.

Personally I had no real problems except some anxiety during the treatment. Acupuncture has definitely helped my high blood pressure and worry. Also it’s helping my snoring to a degree for which my loving wife is very grateful. My wife has cerebral palsy and acupuncture has helped her tremendously too.

Our sessions generally cost $75.00 for each issue. Since I have about three areas that he treats there is a slight discount. applied.

Our acupuncturist is Chinese and only been in the USA a few years. Although he speaks English, I hope he comprehends what I’m expressing. So far he has for the most part.

Although acupuncture may sound strange to many, I urge you to consider it. Sometimes it’s the only thing that relieves your symptoms when nothing else will.

Keep in mind that the first few sessions may not be as positive as you would like it. My BP actually went up some until my third session. Now it has improved considerably and I’m very glad that I stuck it out.

There are many alternative therapies available and acupuncture is a very promising choice. Many have seen immediate pain relief and health improvement. Maybe it will produce results for you too.

Do your homework. Investigate your options. If you ultimately decide to try acupuncture then make sure you select someone reliable.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

without comments

Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy could be the answer to your prayers, especially when nothing else has worked for you. Many have seen fantastic results from this procedure.

We will be discussion the process, benefits and treatments of Hyperbarics and what it can do for you or a loved one.

What is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)? Well, HBOT is the principle of using 100% oxygen under pressure inside a chamber. The patient lies down on a cot that is rolled into the clear chamber. The patient can easily see outside and there is a monitor inside so that TV or a movie can be watch during the process. A handset makes it easy to communicate with the technician.

The process consists of increasing pressure, which is called descending, then maintains that pressure for around 60 minutes, then releasing the pressure, which is ascending. Think of this as a scuba diver descending into the sea slowing then ascending slowly so that they don’t get the bends.

The only discomfort usually is the pressure in the ears like in a plane or ascending up high in the mountains.

Inside the chamber the pressurized oxygen is infused into the patient to start the healing process. The body tissues will absorb oxygen much more readily in this environment. This can reduce inflammation and begin the healing process.

It’s believed that this process will stimulate new blood vessel growth and even stem cells after forty treatments. Each treatment usually will last around one hour.

The increased oxygen nourishes the cells. New capillaries are grown that will help the flow of blood and life giving oxygen to damaged areas, thus helping you to heal yourself.

Many people that have been treated have been eager to share their stories and spread the word about Hyperbarics.

HBOT has helped many conditions such as, strokes, injuries, carbon monoxide poisoning, cerebral palsy, birth traumas and more.

Several people have seen positive results with HBOT and it seems to be permanent after 40 treatments.

Hyperbarics is approved by the FDA for some treatments such as carbon dioxide poisoning and gas embolism, but is considered experimental for many others.

If you have been searching for a miracle then take a closer look at HBOT today.

If you live in Michigan then check out Oxford HBOT in South Lyons. They are very caring. All the patients there are kind and appreciative of the results that Tami and Bruce have provided for them.

What’s Important to You?

without comments

If you really want to maintain a healthy lifestyle then you may have to make some changes. We will be discussing how to take positive steps to increase your health and happiness. Today let’s concentrate on your priorities, interactions and outlook.

What about your priorities? You must decide what’s really important to you, and then if you are willing to make changes and adjustments to improve your life, health and happiness.

Is your job the most important thing to you or is it family, friends, yourself? What rates tops in your life? Is it money, health or maybe happiness?

Once you realize what is really important then you can take steps to improve these areas. Sometimes it’s just taking the time to work on it. Maybe you will find out that it’s not really work, but it is enjoyable once you begin.

Often we have our priorities pretty messed up. You see examples of this all the time. Sometimes you can see this clearly when it’s somebody else or maybe a movie you are watching, but it may not be so clear in your own life. This is when you have to stop, clear your head, step back and take a really good long look.

A big part of staying healthy can be associated with your interactions with others. How do you relate to others? Do you just walk though life with your head down, ignoring everyone around you, or do you interact by making quality friends and trying to get along with others?

Are you barreling down the highway with a cell phone growing out of your ear while your sister, brother, mother, son, friend or whoever is sitting next to you being ignored and distanced?

I will not be surprised if babies will be born with headsets attached in the future. You know how nature tries to adapt.

Well anyhow, maybe you can put the phone away for a while and have a home cooked meal with your family, go to the park or for a walk.

Let me ask you. What kind of outlook do you have? Is it bleak and expecting the worst or do you look on the good side of things even when times may be tough?

You know that it won’t help the situation by worrying and brooding on problems. All you can do is the best that you are capable of, and then don’t worry about the rest.

Have a positive attitude. Enjoy yourself as much as you can by yourself and with friends and family. The new saying for you is `Like Attracts Like’. So now you know that when you think, act and live in a positive manner with joy in your heart that you can only attract more of the same.

So get your priorities straight. Interact with good, fun people and have a great lookout on life. Be healthy, wealthy and wise, but most of all please be Happy.
